Meet The Team

Whether you’re on the phone, in the office, or in the dental chair, our team focuses on you and your individual needs. We take pride in offering the best service and care, and we are committed to make you feel welcome and right at home with us.

Each of our team members takes responsibility to improve your oral health and well being. We will fully explain all treatment options and will always help set and achieve the goals you are looking for. Our supporting 6-member team has nearly 145 years of experience in dentistry.

Mika, Office Manager

Mika is one of the newer additions to the Dental Essence team. Mika holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from South Dakota State University where she also minored in Chemistry.  After spending more than ten years in customer service-related roles, she is happy to join the team as Office Manager.  In her free time, she loves to spend time with her fiance, Ryan, her three kids Trystan, Aydan, and Kyla, and her dog, Chopper.  When she’s not running around with them, she likes to read, listen to music, and exercise.  Mika looks forward to scheduling an appointment with you sometime soon!

Janell, Dental Hygienist

Janell is a graduate from the University of South Dakota Dental Hygiene program.  She has been a hygienist at Dental Essence (and formerly Hahn Dental Clinic) for seven years and has been in the dental field for 27 years.  Janell and her husband, Dan, have two children Jonah and Rachel.  When she is not in the office, she enjoys reading, collecting antiques, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Jeannie, Dental Assistant

Jeannie received her degree in California in 1997, and later graduated from the USD Dental Hygiene program in 2006.  Jeannie has two children, Erin and Tyler, and when she’s not in the office, she enjoys camping, boating, puzzles, and reading, and spending time with her husband, Daniel.

Sara, Dental Hygienist

Sara is the newest addition to Dental Essence.  Sara worked as a dental assistant for two years and then decided to go back to Dental Hygiene School and graduated in 2009.  When she’s not at the office, she enjoys exercising and running, scrapbooking, and reading.

 

LeAnn, Office Manager

LeAnn started her career as an assistant with on-the-job training as an L.P.N.  Eventually she had the opportunity to become the Office Manager, and has been working with Dr. Hahn since 1982.  When LeAnn isn’t in the office, she spends time with her children and grandchildren.  She has one daughter and two sons.  She loves to attend, cheer, and video tape her grandchildren’s activities like volleyball games and track meets.  She also enjoys working outdoors and caring for her flowers.

Janice, Dental Assistant

Janice has worked for Dr. Hahn for 25 years at the Viborg office.  Even though she’s a veteran in the dental industry, she remains eager to further her knowledge about the latest techniques and practices.  She enjoys spending time with her children, Jeffrey and Pamela.  She also has five grandchildren and two great granddaughters.  Janice enjoys singing, reading, and cross-stitching when she isn’t with her family.

Kim, Dental Hygienist

Kim is also a veteran in the dentistry field with over 16 years of experience. She has been a hygienist for 12 years. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at the University of South Dakota. Kim and her husband, Kevin, have three children—a daughter Nicole and two dogs! Kim’s hobbies include playing the cello, along with baking, boating and gardening.
